Via Attytood, my new favorite Philadelphia blog: MercuryNews.com reports that McClatchy, the family-run newspaper group that owns (among other papers) the Sacramento and Fresno Bees, is considering purchasing Knight Ridder (owner of the much-belaguered Philadelphia Inquirer and Philadelphia Daily News).
