It Ain't Just Crisps

Chocolate, too, is regional -- or rather, national -- but some regions are clearly better than others. This NYT article has it right; especially at the entry-level candy bar, American chocolate is the worst and British chocolate is the best.

Totally.

I eat candy bars infrequently when here in the States; only during late night theatre work or long drives when there are vending machines at rest stops and I need something. This experiences are generally disappointing.

But in the UK I find myself grabbing a Cadbury bar of one stripe or another whenever I see one near and I have enough change in my pocket.

In fact, I cultivate change so I'll be ready, just in case.

And the vending machine in Gatwick even gave me two for the price of one on Friday. Score.
