North by Northwest, Then West Some More

New York to San Francisco in one week on an Amtrak sleeper car. My wife forwarded me this email with one sentence: "This is my dream trip."

My dream trip as well. Daniel is OBSESSED with trains. Any train show that is on tv we watch (sometimes multiple times). Like a good mom I went online to figure out where I could take him on a train ride. And I mean a real train, there are plenty of touristy trains around here. But I wanted to pack some bags, buy some tickets and go somewhere, even if its for a day. Well....around here you need to get up in the middle of the night to take a train anywhere. Then that "anywhere" of worth is to far away. I even considered seeing you....but that isn't a direct route.
But I told Daniel if we win the lotto or something we are taking a sleeper car tour of the US. Hey I will take your family along:-)
